Choosing the Gemstones 

Selecting the stone: 

Together, we’ll help you choose the ideal gemstone for your piece. Whether it’s a diamond, a coloured gem, or something more unconventional, our team will guide you toward a stone that complements your design and meets the highest standards of quality and beauty.

At Amaré, we are committed to responsible and ethical sourcing, ensuring every gemstone is carefully and transparently obtained — so you can cherish your piece with complete peace of mind.

Step 3

Design Sketches & 3D Rendering 

Create a Custom Design: 

Based on your preferences, our skilled team of jewelers will create a custom sketch of your jewelry piece. These sketches will showcase the overall design, including how the setting, band, and gemstones will come together. 

Collaborate on Design: 

You’ll have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the sketches. Our professional team will refine the design to ensure it perfectly aligns with your vision. 

Visualize the Ring: 

Before casting, we create a 3D-printed resin model of your design, allowing you to see and try the piece in person at our Lisbon studio. This hands-on preview lets you experience the proportions, details, and overall feel of your ring — and make any final refinements before it’s brought to life in precious metal.

Step 4

Final Review and Adjustments 

Personalized Touches: 

After the piece is complete, you’ll have a final review. This is the perfect moment to add any personal touches, such as engravings or adjustments to the fit. 

Sizing and Fit

The ring will be carefully sized to ensure the perfect fit, with any additional adjustments made to guarantee comfort.

Crafting the Ring 

Master Jewelers at Work: 

Once the design is finalized, the ring is entrusted to Amaré metalsmith’s Márcia and Rodrigo, the expert bench jewelers. Using a mix of traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques, your piece will be carefully handcrafted with attention to every detail. 

Hand-finishing: The team ensures a flawless finish, using hand-finishing techniques to polish the ring to perfection and securely set the gemstone.

Delivery

Can I supply my own gold or heirloom stones?

Yes, absolutely. We encourage you to bring your old gold jewelry and precious metals.

Recycling your gold with Amaré offers two major benefits for your custom piece:

1. A New Life for Your Legacy: We professionally refine and transform your existing gold into your new custom ring. This gives your treasured metal a new life, seamlessly integrating your personal history into the design.

Can I use my own stones or a diamond I sourced elsewhere for my custom design?

Integrating your own diamond or gemstone into a custom Amaré piece is a wonderful way to honor its history. However, there are crucial factors to consider:

- Stone Assessment: We require a professional assessment of your stone's condition, cut, and setting suitability before working with it. Please be aware that if the stone is antique or has existing damage, working with it involves inherent risks, and we may need to review liability terms.

- Design & Setting: Our ability to use the stone depends heavily on its size and shape, as these factors must match the structural integrity of your chosen design.

Please discuss your specific stone details during your initial Discovery Call so we can confirm feasibility and safety.

Can I order a custom ring remotely if I am not in Lisbon?

Absolutely. Our custom ring process is designed for our global clientele. We prioritize clarity, control, and peace of mind at every step:

  • Virtual Design Approval: You receive high-resolution 3D renderings and technical specifications for meticulous review and final approval.
  • Physical Prototype Option: For ultimate confidence, we can also ship a 3D-printed resin model of your final design directly to you, allowing you to physically try the shape and feel before production begins.
  • Global Shipping: Once approved, our artisans begin crafting. We then securely and safely ship your finished creation worldwide.

How can I physically participate in the creation of my ring?

We offer several unique ways to make your ring truly your own:

1. Design Co-Creation: You actively collaborate with our jeweler on the design, ensuring every detail reflects your story, either remotely or in our studio.

2. The Final Touch Experience: For an unforgettable memory, you can visit our Lisbon studio for the Final Touch session. Here, you will personally contribute to the ring's creation by participating in the final stages—polishing, buffing, or adding texture—making a genuine physical contribution to your heirloom.

Do you work with natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, or alternative gemstones?

We work with both ethically sourced natural diamonds and high-quality lab-grown diamonds, as well as a variety of unique gemstones. We help you choose the best option based on your values, budget, and desired aesthetic.

How much does a custom engagement ring typically cost?

Our custom pieces in gold start from €1200, depending on the complexity of the design, the chosen metal (e.g., 9k/4k/18k gold), and the stone specifications (e.g., carat, cut). We provide a clear quote after the initial call.

Is the Discovery Call free?

Yes, our initial Discovery Call is complimentary and pressure-free. It's a chance for us to connect, explore your story, and ensure Amaré is the right fit for your unique vision.

Do you offer jewelry workshops?

Yes! Our Wedding Band Workshops are a key part of the Amaré experience. You and your partner can spend a day in our Lisbon atelier, crafting your own wedding bands under the direct guidance of our artisan, creating the ultimate symbol of commitment
